These Acceptable Use rules (the "Fair Use Policy") set out how the Melonslab Services may and may not be used. They apply to everyone who uses our services and form part of our Terms of Service. The principle is simple: use our infrastructure for genuine, lawful activity, and do not degrade the service or put others at risk.
1. Scope
This policy applies to all Melonslab services, every account, and anyone you allow to use your services. You are responsible for all activity that takes place through your account. A breach of this policy is a breach of our Terms of Service.
2. General principles
Use the Services lawfully and in good faith. Do not use them in any way that harms Melonslab, our network, our other customers or third parties, or that interferes with the normal operation of the platform.
3. Fair bandwidth use
Network capacity is a shared resource. Your bandwidth use must be fair and must relate to genuine, legitimate business or personal activity. Ordinary websites, applications, services and workloads are exactly what our plans are designed for.
Sustained, very data-heavy operations are different. Running services such as public VPNs, public proxies or exit nodes, large-scale web scraping or crawling, automated bulk downloading, content distribution or mirroring, and similar high-egress workloads is not permitted without our prior, explicit written permission, arranged in advance with our sales team at sales@melonslab.com. If you have a legitimate high-bandwidth use case, talk to us first and we will find a suitable arrangement.
We reserve the right to determine, at our own reasonable discretion, whether bandwidth has been used in line with these expectations. Where we conclude it has not, we may bill you for the bandwidth consumed at our prevailing rates, throttle the connection, or suspend the service. We will normally contact you before billing for excess use, except where immediate action is needed to protect the platform.
4. Activities that need prior approval
The following are not banned outright, but they require a prior arrangement with us so that we can provision and price for them properly: public VPN, proxy or Tor exit services; large-scale scraping, crawling or indexing; bulk or high-volume email sending; CDN-style redistribution or file mirroring; sustained high outbound data transfer; and the resale of raw bandwidth.
If you intend to run any of these, contact sales@melonslab.com before you begin.
5. Prohibited uses
The following are never permitted: any unlawful activity; hosting or distributing illegal, infringing or malicious content, including malware and phishing; sending unsolicited bulk messages (spam); attacking, probing or gaining unauthorised access to any system, including denial-of-service attacks, port scanning and intrusion attempts; circumventing our usage limits or the isolation between customers; and any activity that endangers the security or stability of our network.
6. Monitoring and enforcement
We do not routinely inspect the content of your traffic, but we do monitor network health and aggregate usage. Where we reasonably believe this policy is being breached, we may investigate, throttle, suspend or terminate the affected service and bill for excess bandwidth as described above, in line with our Terms of Service. We aim to act proportionately and to give notice where it is safe and practical to do so.
7. Reporting abuse
To report abuse, spam or unwanted traffic originating from our network, contact abuse@hypefox.net. We investigate every genuine report.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Fair Use Policy from time to time as our services and network evolve. Where a change materially affects how you may use the Services, we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to support@melonslab.com. To discuss a legitimate high-bandwidth use case, contact our sales team at sales@melonslab.com.
